Our client, a manufacturing company located near Montreal, QC is looking for a Bilingual Regulatory Affairs Coordinator to join their team.

 

What you will do in this role:

 

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all food products meet current regulatory standards and compliance requirements for both the U.S. (FDA, USDA) and Canada (CFIA, Health Canada).
  • Labeling & Documentation: Review and approve product labels, packaging, and marketing materials to ensure they meet regulatory labeling requirements, including ingredient statements, nutritional facts, and allergen disclosures.
  • Product Registration & Documentation: Manage product registrations, certifications, and other regulatory documentation for product approval in both regions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, Quality, Graphic Design, and Operations teams to provide regulatory guidance during product development and ensure compliance from concept through launch.
  • Monitor Regulatory Changes: Remain informed about evolving food regulations in the U.S. and Canada and communicate relevant changes and their impacts to the company.
  • Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Conduct risk assessments on new ingredients, processes, and products and advise on regulatory risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Claims Substantiation: Review and substantiate product claims for accuracy, regulatory compliance, and alignment with current guidelines.

 

What you will bring to the role:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, Nutrition, Regulatory Affairs, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in regulatory affairs within the food industry, preferably with experience in both U.S. and Canadian markets.
  • Strong knowledge of FDA, USDA, CFIA, and Health Canada regulations and guidelines.
  • Experience with food labeling requirements, product claims, and substantiation in both countries.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex regulatory requirements clearly to cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with regulatory documentation management and electronic submission systems is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
